The Italian Heritage forever for everyone

Save, restore and re-open. Educate, promote, protect. What? The endangered Italian Heritage: nature, art, history and traditions. This is the mission of FAI , Fondo Ambiente Italiano, founded in 1975 following the example of the National Trust in England.

Villas, parks, monument, castles, natural areas entrusted to FAI through donations or concessions have been restored and re-open to the public. Some of them literally snatched from oblivion or destruction. Among them the Abbey of S. Fruttuoso in front of the coast of Liguria, Villa Balbianello overlooking lake Como, Bosco of S. Francis in Assisi, an example of the Italian rural landscape, the Castle of La Manta in Piedmont with a rare example of Italian Gothic Frescos, Villa Balbianello overlooking lake Como, the Negozio Olivetti by Carlo Scarpa in S. Marco Square, an icon of the italian design,Villa Gregoriana neaR Rome, the Garden of Kolymbethra in Sicily, etc…
