Itinerary

7 days/6 nights (from March to October)
Recanati, Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata, Sibillini Mountains, Adriatic Sea and Conero Park, Frasassi Caves, Acqualagna the Truffle Paradise, Urbino

Day 1.
Arrival in Recanati, looking down on the Adriatic Sea

Transfer to Recanati little town on the hills hometown of Giacomo Leopardi, one of the best European poet and Beniamino Gigli, a famous Italian tenor of the XX century. Accomodation.

Day 2.
The Land of Ancient Piceni

Transfer by bus to Ascoli Piceno, the town of Piceni, a pre-roman people. The historical city is built in marble called travertino, a grey stone extracted from the surrounding mountains and famous for its tower, bridges, churches and its central Renaissance square, one of the finest in Italy.
Visit to an oil mill to taste the extravergine and the famous olive ascolane (fried olives filled with meat and parmigiano).
Transfer to Fermo to visit an astonishing archeological site: the Romans Cisterns that date back to 40 A.D.

Day 3.
From Sibillini Mountains to Macerata 

Transfer by bus in the Sibillini area for an easy walking and visit of S. Ginesio with a magnificent view of the area.
Lunch with local specialities.
Transfer to Macerata, a University town with its squares and churches. Visit to the historical Sferisterio, an open Opera theatre with a unique architectural design.

Day 4.
Unexpected Adriatic Sea. 

Transfer to Conero Natural Park Area. Monte Conero is the only high part of the Adriatic coast of the Marche, full of grottoes, cliffs, caves and small sandy beaches. Breathtaking views for an unforgettable visit that includes an easy walking and visit to the villages of Portonovo e Sirolo.
Transfer to one of the best wine producer of Le Marche to taste the Rosso Conero and have a wonderful food experience at the local restaurant.

Day 5.
Frasassi Caves and Paper Marvellous Story

Transfer to the area of Frasassi to visit the Caves open in the 1974. The big cave can contains the Duomo (cathedral of Milan)! The easy walking visit will take 75 minutes. Next stop in Fabriano, the town of paper. In the 7th century the Chinese technique of making paper arrived in Central Asia, where the Arabs learnt it becoming the primitive teachers of the local papermakers. Thanks to the innovations made by the Fabrianese maestri, paper became the material through which communication and knowledge spread. The fine and well managed Museum of Paper and Filigrana is a vibrant storytelling of this marvellous story.
Late in the afternoon transfer and accommodation to Pesaro, the city of Gioachino Rossini. Free time for a relaxing walk along the sea promenade

Day 6.
Truffle search along the ancient Roman Flaminia Road

Transfer to Acqualagna, a little village along the Flaminia road and land of its majesty the Truffle.
Here you will experience a real truffle search with experts and trained dogs.
After searching…. Tasting in a local restaurant.
Transfer to Gola del Furlo, a relics of Romans engineering genius: a cut in the stone to speed up the building of the ancient Flaminia path, connecting Rome to Rimini.

Day 7.
The Renaissance Ideal Town: Urbino

Transfer to Urbino. Unesco site and homeland to Raffaello Sanzio.
Its skyline more than others, shows the Renaissance concept of the ideal town.
Visit programm

- the Palazzo Ducale, its enchanting “Torricini” and the Marche National Gallery, a Collection of paintings by Raffaello, Bramante, Piero della Francesca, Tiziano, Laurana, etc..,
- Raffaello’s Native House.
